Can You Say YUMMY??

It is freeeeezing in Virginia Beach today and all I wanted to do was snuggle up under a blanket and imagine myself somewhere warm, eating good food, and enjoying good drinks. I came back down from lala land and realized after all that daydreaming I was still hungry. So I braved the cold and went to the nearest Krogers to take another try at their Private Selection food line. This time I felt like snacking so I bought Private Selections’ appetizer Baked Tortilla Cup Collection. It featured two different types of cups. One was filled with spinach and artichoke, the other with tomato and eggplant. Needless to say both were yummy in flavor and in texture. The crust of the cups cooked up nice and flaky and the insides of the cups were gooey and warm. (just what I needed to forget the cold) The spinach and artichoke was very creamy, which I liked. The tomato and eggplant reminded me of a tasty little pizza wrapped into a little cup. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to try a new snack. I think it is a nice addition to a party tray. Hmmmmm inspiration for the Super Bowl maybe! Check out some of the pictures I captured before I devoured these little bits of joy.

Happy Eating :)

PIZZA PIZZA PIZZA

As everyone knows I’m a #BzzAgent and I’m so excited because last night my friend and I got to try some of Kroger’s Private Selection Pizza. Now I don’t know about everyone else but I am an avid pizza eater and always looking for the next best pie! They were easy to find in the pizza aisle due to the sleek, dark appearance of the product packaging. The pizza’s were affordable at an average cost of about $5.99. They pizza only had 2-3 servings per box which I thought was small. I don’t know that I would eat this as a meal with others but it would be a great pizza to cut into small slices and use as finger food for parties.  Last night we tried two different kinds; Private Selection Barbeque Chicken Pizza and Private Selection Pepperoni and Roasted Garlic.

Private Selection Barbeque Chicken Pizza

  • OMG this pizza crisped up perfectly. What I liked the most about it was the sauce. It was tangy, spicy, but not overpowering all at the same time. I have a weakness for onions and the red onions added sweetness to the pizza that was to die for. The only negative I found was the chicken…it was a little dry.

Private Selection Pepperoni and Roasted Garlic

  • I was disappointed with this pizza. L I enjoyed the pepperoni and the cheese but I was very upset to find huge diced pieces of garlic that drowned out all the other flavors of the pizza. It was an uncomfortable amount of garlic. Maybe the garlic could be minced or cooked down into the sauce.

All in all…. Kroger’s Private Selection pizza was a SUCCESS. I would definitely try other pizzas in the product line and recommend the brand to anyone I know. Thanks for reading… gotta get another slice!
